Do not send documents through this website. After you start, we send you a private upload link, and copies of ID are deleted once the filing is done.
Registered office address
An Ontario corporation must keep a registered office in Ontario, where official documents can be delivered. For owners outside the province or outside Canada, it is often the first thing they need.
- Registered office address in Ontario, with your mail received and scanned to you
- Annual return reminders, so a filing date is never missed
Import and export set-up
Canada does not issue one general import and export licence. To bring goods in or send them out, a business registers a business number and then an import-export account with the Canada Revenue Agency. Owners who live outside Canada can register too.
- Business number first, then the import-export (RM) account, which gives you a 15-digit number such as 123456789RM0001 for every customs document
- Registration on the CBSA’s CARM Client Portal, which every commercial importer must use
- For owners abroad: the request (Form BSF900) to keep your import records in the United States or Mexico instead of in Canada
- Pointing you to the right office when your goods need their own permit, such as food from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
- Introductions to a licensed customs broker, and to a surety if you want goods released before you pay duties
Non-resident businesses request their business number from the Canada Revenue Agency directly, before registering for customs.
US LLCs and UK LLPs
For owners who also need a company outside Canada. We form single-member limited liability companies (LLCs) in the United States and limited liability partnerships (LLPs) in the United Kingdom, for owners who live anywhere.
- US single-member LLC: formation in the state that suits your plans, the employer identification number (EIN), and a calendar of the yearly filings the IRS and the state expect
- UK LLP: registration with Companies House, which needs at least two members, and a calendar of its yearly accounts, confirmation statement and partnership return
How an LLC or LLP is taxed depends on where you live and where the business is run. We will tell you which questions to take to an accountant in your home country before you choose.
Business bank account applications
Help preparing a business bank account application, and introductions to banks that work with businesses like yours.
- Your application, and the ownership and identity documents banks ask for, prepared and checked before anything is sent
- Introductions to banks that work with businesses like yours
Each bank runs its own checks and makes its own decision. We prepare a strong application, but cannot promise an account will be opened.
Grant applications
We look for grant programs that may fit your business and prepares the application with you, for a flat fee agreed in advance.
- Programs matched to your business and where it operates
- Your application prepared and organized with you, for you to submit and discuss with the funder yourself
Grant programs set their own rules and choose their own recipients. No grant can be promised, and there is never a fee that depends on winning.
Business plans and project presentations
For owners who need a clear plan for themselves, a bank or a partner.
- A business plan written with you, for your own use
- A project presentation you can take to a bank or a partner
When you need someone else
Some work must be done by a licensed professional. When your plans reach that point, we will say so and help you find the right person:
- A lawyer, for legal advice and agreements
- An accountant, for tax and bookkeeping
- A licensed immigration consultant or lawyer, for anything to do with immigration
- A licensed customs broker, for clearing goods at the border
